About Us
Word to Your Motherboard is operated by WubCo iNC (An Illinois Company), as such, your statement will show WubCo as the payee.
Word To Your Motherboard was started in 2008 when Holly Frye came up with a funny saying. We started with t-shirts and realized it was more than just a catch phrase.
WubCo had so many "extra" parts laying around that when we moved offices Holly was looking at the mass amounts of PC and laptop parts and said, I can do something with those parts. She then started to make jewelry for our friends and realized she was really talented and could sell the pieces to the general public.
Thus WTYMB was born and is still alive and well today. The idea of up-cycle is not our own, but a community of people, like Word to Your Motherboard, whom werre sick and tired of the overfilling of our landfills and the illegal disposal of the electronic waste we call last year's model. We use these unwanted items and turn them into wanted wearable art so you can feel good about yourself and the world we live in a little more. Every piece of unwanted electronic is stripped, torn or taken apart and we use about 90% of the total parts. That is better than the other people who only use 1% or recycle only a CPU.
The goal we have for the world is to start looking at up-cycle as a means, more than recycle or toss out. Recycling takes energy, resources and doesn't usually yeild something as nice as our jewery!
We always accept donatoins, if you are in Chicago or near the city we can arrange to pick up or have you drop off the unwanted items. We love new supplies, it gives more possibilty to the creation that comes from within.
Please email us at wubco@wubco.net with the subject DONATION to get more info! Thanks again for helping the Earth a little bit at a time.
